OK, so this particular post is going to take a long time to put together, but here's a start. I'll be adding in more shops soon - if anyone feels like doing some of the shops that still need added, more power to you. Shops that still need added:
Varsity Bikes
Kenwood
Eric's
Express bike shop (on Snelling, soon moving to Selby)
County Cycles
Grand Performance
Boehm's
Now Sports
Silver Cycles
Sunrise Cyclery
Carson Cyclery
The Bicycle Chain
Penn Cycle
Calhoun Cycles
REI
Alternative Bike & Board
If anyone feels like adding them, just post a reply and I'll merge it into the main thread. Once we have them all listed here, I'll start seperate threads for each shop where we can review them, and add links to the master list.
Seems like a lot of work, but I think it's going to be really usefull for a lot of people. Especially since most of the time when I see guests logged in and check to see what they're reading, it's this forum... Let's not dissappoint them!

I know we don't want to clutter the listing up but would it be worthwhile to add a "cast of characters" section to each shop here? Or should that go in the shops' reviews? Or...?

I think that would go better in the individual reviews. Once we have this list filled up, I'm going to delete out everything but the list and lock it...
I just don't know of any other listings of all the shops in town all in one place, so it seems best to keep this list clean and simple.

Clean and simple, easy to navigate.
Could they be put into a geographic list?
Like MPLS shops, St Paul shops, SW suburbs, etc.

I think we could do that - need to get all of them entered first. How much do we want to break them down?

If I were looking for a shop, I'd want to know:
â?¢ Chain or single store
â?¢ Location(s)
â?¢ Contact info (phone, Web, address, who to talk to?)
â?¢ What types of bikes/gear they specialize in
â?¢ Quality of service
â?¢ Price range (reasonable vs. high)
â?¢ If they sell local stuff (i.e. local brands of gear, hardware, apparel)
â?¢ If they have online sales/have a Web site
(I'm probably missing some stuff here.)

TCBC has the best bike shop listing I've seen. Should be a good place to start.
Saw Kenwood on your list. Kenwood, unfortunately, is closed.

Crap! I got my names mixed up, I'm pretty sure I was thinking Flanders and typed Kenwood... You're kind of filling their shoes a bit now, aren't you?
Thanks for the link, too - ours is going to blow theirs out of the water, but it's good to have something to start with...

Howdy.
Check out the CRC Coffee Bar/Cykel Garage. We've got used fixies, single-speeds, croozers, etc. Stock is always rotating.
thank you.
