If anyone sees a 20" Silver men's FX 7.1 with a blue water bottle holder, front and rear lights and a bike pump attached, as well as a 17.5" Navy women's FX 7.1 with a silver water bottle holder. please PM me. They were stolen from our garage in S. Mpls- Morris Park neighborhood- early in the morning on 6/16. There was a rash of burglaries that night, and although the cops have some suspects I am told, I'm not holding my breath.

General question- has anyone ever had their bike recovered? If so, how long did it take? I am going on two weeks now without any luck. I check craigslist daily, and am calling the Mpls Police warehouse in S. Mpls once a week. Does anyone have any other suggestions I could try? Are there any other craigslist-type websites out there that someone might sell a bike? Any suggestions, thoughts, comments would be much appreciated. They may have not been the most fancy bikes, but they were perfect for what I needed. Thank you.

A coworker used to live in the same shitty apartment as a notorious bike thief. He had, at any given time, 10 bikes on his balcony. A smart thief will have a stash of them and only try to resell after the seller has given up looking.

Did this guy try to go to pawn shops, or would he sell them to individual buyers?

I've always felt it was either an immediate low dollar sale for the next crack rock, or as you stated, stashed till the heat cools or shipped to another state/city.

One suggestion would be a picture, if you have one. As good as the description is, the one I found was solely based on coming right here and running through the pictures. In fact I've contemplated suggesting this site put up just a page of pictures, kind of like those missing kids on milk cartons, so even if someone just glances at the page, the visual may stick with them just long enough.

Agreed. Or if you have access to the internet on your phone you could bring the page up and scan it while you stare at one left in the bushes or follow someone who is walking a bike that is way too tall for them

Thanks for the advice. I don't have a picture of my bike, but here is a stock photo of the exact bike. The only difference is that mine had a blue bottle holder on the diagonal beam, and a hand held pump on the vertical beam. There was a pouch under the seat and lights on the front and back, but I'm guessing those have been removed. This is a stock photo of my wife's- she had a silver bottle holder on the diagonal beam and that's it for accessories. Neither had a kickstand:
