I recently got totally fed up with my 5 blade cartridge system razor that always left me with irritated skin and a shave that looked like crap. So I did some research and I made the switch to the safety razor, all I can say is "Holy crap!" I had no idea that I could get a good shave, let alone the shave could be enjoyable. I have been shaving for about 19 years and until January I have never had a close and comfortable shave. So if you are like me look into a DE safety razor, it made a lot of difference. Here is a good resource: www.badgerandblade.comMy question is, do any other wet shavers out there know of a place to buy supplies in Minneapolis? I found one barber shop on Lake Street that sells e-shave, stuff but that is about it. Also I am not really concerned with faddy designer soaps like the stuff that comes out of the art of shaving at the MOA. I want to experiment with different types of soaps and stuff but I would like to buy locally instead of off the internet. If anyone knows anything, please share it! Thank you.

I know Heimies Haberdashery in DT St. Paul does straight razor shaves. And I believe they sell soap/lotion/cream/tools/etc. for said method.
Otherwise, check other barber supply outlets.
If you don't mind going online (or travelling to madison area) Duluth Trading Co. sells old school shaving products as well.

I figured Heimies would have stuff like that, I've heard it is pricey, but I guess I should check it out any way. There are a lot of good resources online and it seems like every state except Minnesota has some kind of specialty shave store. Maybe it's because all of the beards. JenNastix wrote: Macy's? Sears? I checked online just a minute ago and they have some things but they are pretty over priced. One of the benefits of using the safety razor is that blades cost less than a buck a piece and the soap costs maybe 15 dollars and lasts for months. That was a great suggestion though, I didn't even think about big box stores. I'll have to dig a little deeper into that realm.

Theres a place at 212 3rd Ave N called Patrick and something or another, that seems like it has all that fancy shaving stuff. They got all the brush's and soaps from what i've seen, but i'm willing to bet its not much cheaper than hiemy's
