I was going to sell this on Ebay but I would really prefer to see the bike go to someone I can meet and be assured that it's going to the home it truly deserves. I am not happy to see it go but the bills have to be paid and I got a puppy to feed. I am asking $900 (originally purchased for $1,200) but am willing to negotiate slightly (especially if I know you're going to treat it right. Please don't convert this to a fixie, if you do I hope Eddy himself will smack you upside the head.)
The frame has been used but is in good condition and shows some paintchips, touchups and scuffmarks. No dents, cracks, rust. Almost perfect condition with light wear. Frame dates from the early 90s and is made of Columbus SLX tubes which ensures a superb ride. Has all original dropouts and original campagnolo seat clamp bolt.
Frame is stamped C8983 on the lefthandside and D1XB on the right hand side. (You can check Merckx serialnumbers on
www.cadre.org/Merckx/)
Bottombracket is Italian threaded. Frame will take all modern equipment (fork is threaded and requires a threaded headset.)
Seat tube (A) = 51 cm (C-C)
Top tube (B) = 53 cm (C-C)
