Funny - BRose of Shockspital/Midtown Freewheel posted a picture of the same derailer system on Facebook less than a week ago. They hadnt seen one in person, at least not in many years.

While not quite this vintage, I saw a forward mounted suntour derailleur on a Tern folding bike. Same as this one I think http://www.rei.com/product/833643/tern-eclipse-p9-bike-2012. Mounts in front of the dropout, just not THAT far in front

I like a lot of things "costed" him. Also, looks like you can get that motobecane bike complete from bikesdirect for under $300. "LIST $795"

Gah, I feel a leeeeeetle bit sorry for people that "have" to buy new, at full retail price...
A Motobecane fixie for $1300? I have a "higher end" aluminum Motobecane fixie, and Ive spent all of $200 on it for the whole thing - thanks to Bikelove, Craigslist, the Blaine swap and friends in low places - bike shops, not theives ;). But now this sucka "needs" a car to sink money into, so I feel much less sorry.
(Anyone notice that Motobecanes are also Windsors? and that you could get a decent deal on a SRAM Rival kit, if you sell or throw away the frame it comes on?)

Black Aerospoke - $100 (Uptown )

Quote:
Hello all. Today I am selling my black 26" Aerospoke front wheel. The wheel has machined sidewalls so it can be used with a front brake if need be. The reason the price is so dramatically low is the fact that the Aerospoke has a crack in it. The crack happened about 8 months ago when another biker cut in front of me as I was mashing too hard to stop and ran him over (he broke is collarbone, I broke my Aerospoke). The crack has no affect on the performance of this incredible wheel. I ride the streets of Minneapolis hard (city of potholes I call it) and the crack has not spread, widened or worsened after 7 months of riding with the crack. The crack is exactly 1.5 inches long. Aerospokes retail for $325 ($364 after shipping) from the manufacturer, so the reason I am charging $100 is so you can either keep and use the wheel, which I personally would do, or send it back to Aerospoke and they will send you a new wheel for $200 flat, no questions asked, so you will still be saving money rather than buying a brand new one. I took pictures of the wheel, how it looks on my bike (bike not included), and of the crack up close and personal. It comes with a Serfas tire, which retails for about $20. The wheel can be used on the street for fixed gear riders or on the trail for mountain bikes. I accept cash only, and prefer to meet in a public place uptown, but we can discuss that. Call Chad @ [...] or e-mail me. Have a nice day!

Maybe you should get a brake instead of mashing fellow cyclists' collarbones, Chad.
