The Urban Assault Ride is coming back to Minneapolis on June 10!

We have a couple new things going on with it, that are pretty exciting to me. Minneapolis is my home race, so I get more excited about this one than the rest of them.

Fun new stuff:

In our 5th year in Minneapolis, we've added a new non-profit partner for the race. In addition to our continued support for MORC, we're also benefitting the Midtown Greenway Coalition this year!

Second (and here's the free beer part), I want to show the rest of the UAR crew what Minneapolis has to offer in terms of riding and community, so we're hosting a Beer Bike Ride at the Midtown Greenway Coalition HQ on Friday night, June 8! Meet us at 6pm, we'll drink some beer and then go for a little spin around town.

We'll be rolling out the Surly Bikes Beer Trailer - when you see how we built up our Surly Ted Trailer, you'll be making plans for building one for yourself.

We are also looking for volunteers for MOCA for this. We provide support for this in return for a substantial donation for trail supplies for MOCA and MORC which we use in building and maintaining area trails.

I've been volunteering at this since the first year and it's quite a blast.

You can register here

So we've got MORC squared away, but the Midtown Greenway Coalition still needs 2 more volunteers. Come on down and help them out!

It's a good time and provides a solid chunk of money for two great local groups. Plus who doesn't want to spend their Sunday morning with a hungover Beckel? Be there, your grandma would be proud.

No doubt. Luckily the race itself ends pretty early. 12:30pm should be when the stops shut down.

Also the volunteer roles needed by the Midtown Greenway Coalition are even earlier giving you plenty of time for Open Streets shenanigans! :D
