I didn't know there was a game today, and I was running late, so I took Park instead of the Greenway to get to work.
Damn. I haven't seen traffic that bad downtown since the last time that GW was in town. They're all trying to find parking, too, so they're in and out of the bike lane. I had to yell at one dumbass in an SUV 18 inches from me as he tried to merge through me to get into a parking lot. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!? Please stay out of the bike lane!!!!"
To be fair, I was passing him at the time, but still.
I ended up just having to take the center lane.
I think I'm taking the Greenway tomorrow, even if it means that I'm late for work.

If only they would park in the parking lot that is Bloomington and take the train. They would have a much easier time. Ah well.

Even then they end up walking all over the bike path. The only real solution is to keep them locked up in the burbs. They don't belong downtown.
Fuckers.

Is this a post complaining about traffic downtown? Brilliant.
Do you hate Oakland Athletics fans too?

I didn't see any Oakland Althletics shirts, but I did see a lot of Twins shirts.
The traffic usually isn't bad unless there is a game. So the fans ARE what I'm complaining about.

I'm going to agree with Jeremy here. As if there aren't enough people downtown on a normal workday, there are a bunch of morons that have no idea where they're going. Grr.

It's on in at least 3 different places around the print shop right now.

Yea! I get to use a Tick quote, "Brace yourself while Corporate America tries to sell us its wretched things."

Have you ever tried to take the train northbound on a game night? I make that mistake every month or two and sorely regret it. A ton of people park down in Bloomington and try to take the train all at once. Every train fills up to sardine room only before it even gets to the airport. From there on up, people try to squeeze in at every stop, after being pissed that the three previous trains were all just as full. It's a stinky, crowded, noisy affair with plenty of rowdy little kids that don't know how to behave on public transportation.
To top it all off, I always have my bike with me when this happens. You should see the look on peoples' faces when a sweaty guy and his bike shoehorn their way onto the train. At least I have the pleasure of knowing I am annoying some of them.
I really wish Metro Transit had a real solution for the twins game problem on the light rail. I guess they probably don't own enough trains to handle the load.

I've rode the train southbound with a very alcohol addled mind and a roommate in the same condition after a game let out and there were a ton of them going to other parking lots. I have a vague recolection of singing drinking songs and getting into trouble at the Hooters at the Smell of America. If I post too many more details it could be incriminating, but it involved a box we called a "bomb" and left under the table there.... I also vaguely remember being chased by security through parking lots and over fences....
I think that was too many details....
