Hey, I live by Calhoun off Lake and France. I'm having some major shifting problems with my old, old schwinn varsity. Where would you recommend a good place that works on schwinns. Thanks

There is Sunrise on Lake and Bryant - I hear they do some good work over there. They also carry used parts so if it is actually broke you might be able to get something a little cheaper.

I am sure most any shop should be able to adjust a rear derailer.

i wouldn't look for places that work on schwinns. most places should be able to take a look at one of those and tell you off the bat what needs adjusting. i know chuck just adjusted some stuff for my girl for free in like 5 min. should be a quick fix.

How old of a Schwinn? Internal gear hub or derailleur?

I have a 1980s World Sport and have had good experiences at several local shops. The parts really haven't changed that much in 20+ years. You could bring it into The Alt, Sunrise, Calhoun Cycle, or Penn and be fine.

If it is super old, then you'll want to go somewhere that understands old bikes and is more likely to know where to get the parts. WIth my 1952, I've gotten good advice or excellent service from One on One, the Bikesmith, and CRC.
