The Strib wrote: People who bike and walk in Minneapolis are invited to an open house Wednesday to propose infrastructure improvements that would increase pedestrian and bike commuting and promote biking and walking as a non motorized means of transportation. The gathering will be hosted by the city of Minneapolis from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Room 220 of City Hall at 350 S. 5th Street in downtown Minneapolis. Attendees, who do not have to be Minneapolis residents, will be asked to suggest and prioritize projects that would increase bicycling and walking in Minneapolis. The city will seek funding for chosen projects from $21.5 million provided to the metro area by Congress under one of four national non-motorized transportation pilot programs.

Anyone think it'd be good if they plowed the cedar lake trail past cedar lake?

Wow, I only saw this just now.
I'll stop in straight after work, in the 6ish range.
We should flood the place with MBLers!
Otherwise we have little to complain about, eh?
Here's your chance to get your 2 cents in- who's going?
Edit:
If you can't make it yourself, send your thoughts
along with someone who's going, please!

I think I'll be there just to hear what's said. I don't know enough specifics to talk the talk but I want to at least help with a good turnout. I highly encourage others to do the same...

I can't go. The plowing was the only thing I could think about. Oh, and biking on the U of M campus, especially on Washington and parts of University is dangerous. In particular, where the bike lane on University ends where University and Washington meet it's especially dangerous because it ends in a turn lane, so you have to move lanes past people trying to turn right, and then continue to split lanes between the two passing you until you get past the intersection... I know a number of people have expressed concern about that one...

That pisses me off to no end. I wanna make stickers that say "Get a Bicycle" and "hand" them out to people on scooters.

Are you talking about motor scooters or those little kick scooters?
My girlfriend has a vespa...i hate it. I want her to just ride her bike instead. Every time she leaves on it i worry about her.
