We need more details - what happened?

It's not a result of bridge club, is it?

Seriously, that sucks...

I had a frame crack back in '90 and it also did the creaking thing before I noticed the crack in the frame.

Great. Now I'll be paranoid about creakings if they ever pop up.

I'm so sorry about the crack. Does this mean the whole frame is bad?

Light baby blue...

Just realized that this means you two won't have matching bikes anymore - you need to pick up a tandem SOON to keep up the cuteness...

The frame could be saved by a good framebuilder. It's probably cost prohibitive, though.

I like making stools out of trashed frames by chopping off the down tube and top tube, then spreading the rear dropouts for a stabler base.

i know! fuck!

but that baby blue sounds like a damn good option...

and nate, you have no idea of what the not-swear to swear ratio usually is. tends to be higher than 2:3. especially when something like this is involved.

sigh.

making it into a stool is a neato idea for keeping it around. i seem to recall that they have some of those sitting around at express bikes in st. paul.

sigh.

I first saw stools like that at Grand Performance in St. Paul. I just had to make some for myself. Now I don't have any left because of moving and such. Granted, the frames didn't have sentimental value to me, either.

I would give it a shot if you want me to give it a try. The only problem that I could see is in the finishing becuse of the dent. It might require that we cut frame to lessen the dent or a little body work before paint. If ya want me to try to fix it I will , I work in a steel fab shop and have fixed a few frames.

You could bribe a friend who knows how to weld and combine the broken frame with your good Steamroller frame and make the world's coolest double decker tallbike...
