I went to the Seward coop this evening for some food. I forgot my bike lock. I asked if I could leave it in the foyer and she said "No, we have a lock you can use". So somebody came with a lock and key. I locked my bike. When I was done shopping I found her and unlocked my bike.

That is super double kewl.

Thanks Seward coop.

just another reason why i love my coop.

i have - many times in fact - left my bicycle by the carts in the foyer - but opnly during "quiet" times....

a decent u-lock they have.... my friend and i rode a couple of hours, ended at seward lockless and hungry. manager locked our bikes...we shopped and ate... awesome peach ginger muffin and choc granola cookie bar... manager unlocked our bikes.... we rode on....

all ya have to do is go to the front desk (i went in with my cyclocross bike one time) and request the manager of the day for a bike lock.... i've done this three times now - when i have a bike that i don't routinely carry a lock with...

what a lovely lovely thing! i love my coop!

We also have bike tools and a pump available outside by the rack!

Some doofus broke the gauge face on the bike pump, but it works like a charm still. There's a full stand with enough tools to get you heading back home when your hoopdie falls apart! My work's the best.

Sorry to hear about your hoop.

Also awesome about my coop?

The bike stand and tools they have available just in case my roommate took mine over to his girlfriend's on a morning I have to fix a flat and get to work..

Just sayin'.... living in Seward where I can fix my bike and buy delicious pastries at the same place is pretty much perfect.

best coop in town, by my standards. has a charming feel like the hampden or the eastside, an awesome selection, and isn't a total clusterfuck like the wedge.

Last fall I popped a flat during a major downpour a block from Seward. I used their awning for shelter to change my flat. only after exhausting myself with a mini pump did I realize the full size one not 5 feet away.

Yesterday, I almost got run over by a car in the parking lot... I drove to the coop, which I rarely do. Everytime I drive there, I remember why I hate driving there. Anyway, I was walking towards the entrance... Got up onto that little island by the beeping tower when I saw this car driving WAY TOO FAST and coming at me from the right... And the car actually ended up going up and over the curb of that little island - missing me by maybe 10-15 cm.... NUTS!

So, the coop is still an awesome bike friendly business... but I'm super scared that the customers are gonna kill someone in that darn parking lot.
