First, read this: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=19275I will buy pizza and beer/beverage of choice for any folks willing to help me find my phone, which appears to be sitting somewhere in the vicinity of 73rd and 74th street between Ohm's Lane and East Bush Lake Road.

Too bad I'm nowhere near Edina.

Well, further research tells me that I shouldn't necessarily believe what the tracker app is telling me. People have posted on reviews that the tracker showed a phone that was right in front of the person as being up to 2 miles away.
So, given that there has been no activity on the phone since it recieved a text from me yesterday morning, I think it is dead and lying where I dropped it. Where ever that is.
I went kicking all the piles of leaves along the curb where my route goes closest to the tracker position with no luck. I think it is dead and gone.

Ted,
Make a gmap-pedometer route that shows your trip as closely as possible -- like which side of the road and curb you were near and all that. I'd like to take a run through that area myself.
I think if someone had found the phone they'd have called you on it. I don't think all is lost yet. Worst case, put up some posters!

Hmm... some "smart" phone. Can't even find its way home... Guess there's no app for that.

Considering the speed you usually ride, I could see the phone sliding about a mile and a half...

I was thinking along those lines, but a more realistic distance: <100 ft.

Bob Here's the stretch that runs closest to where the tracker shows the phone: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4150124I walked through the section of Valley View from just W. of 169 all the way to Gleason. Kicking every one of the numerous leaf piles. I generally ride next to the right curb except for the left hand turns.

now the FamilyMap is showing it here: http://tinyurl.com/2dl5o2awithin 1.3 miles of accuracy. The intersection of Valley View and Gleason seems like the most likely location, hiding in a ditch or a pile of leaves or brush by the side of the road. No one has used it yet. Fafnir and I are going to meet at St. Patricks (intersection of Gleason and Valley View) to walk around with flashlights. 6pm.

Valiant effort, gentleman.
It's still out there somewhere.
This is not as irritating as seeing the hoodrats riding my stolen folding bike last year, but it's close.

Check your daily data usage, see if someone is using it as an internet enabled ipod. I am surprised the battery hasn't given out yet.
