MPLS Bike Love is proud to present the 2011 Minneapolis Bicycle Film Festival, presented by Brendt Barbur & Friends. Running from July 21-24, this year's festival includes dozens of new films, a new venue, and some great events. Spread it around! We hope you'll join us and stay tuned for more details about the festival here, on Twitter, Facebook, and the web. Tickets for all 5 screenings a t St. Anthony Main are available on the festival web site. Of particular note in the program is the debut of locally made film Dudey-Free Zone as part of Minneapolis Instute of Arts Bike Night. We need some volunteers throughout the weekend to help with box office, ushering, scavenger hunt logistics, hauling and assorted miscellany. Let me or lalampls know if you can offer some assistance. The 2011 Minneapolis Bicycle Film Festival would not be possible without the support of our local sponsors One On One Bicycle Studio, Surly Bicycles, Surly Brewing, Planet Bike, Banjo Brothers and Bolger Printing and festival sponsors San Marco and Brompton.

We've met almost all of our volunteer needs. We just need 3 more people for this shift. Please let me know if you're available! The Bicycle Film Festival would be forever grateful!

Dudey-Free Zone is a really offensive title.
Its a shame that the such a potentially worthwhile project is bogged down in name calling instead of something more positive.

Holy crap, it's finally here! lala and I are pretty stoked to share this weekend of awesome bikeness with all of you. We've got a couple of quick notes: I could use a hand with some stuff (read: beer) for the night ride. We're going to visit a couple of secret-ish destinations from 9-11 on Thursday, and the ride can certainly continue from there. Prepare for adventure. On Friday, the Bike Happy Hour will be at Aster Cafe from 5-7. The Bike Brunch on Saturday is canceled. The Scavenger Hunt is being organized by jammin and meetup is at 12 and launch is at 1. You'll need a map and one member of your 3-5 member team will need a camera. The hunt will be done in time for the 5pm screenings. You may be interested to know that we have a bunch of Surly Beer for the Rally In The Alley. Free beer. We had a hiccup with the picnic location and are still working that out. We'll be bringing charcoal, lighter fluid, coolers, and some food and condiments (and stuff) but hope that those of you attending will bring some supplies to share. Unless something awesome comes up, we're just going to first-come, first-serve it at the Wabun Picnic Area at Minnehaha Park 12pm. Look for the bikes. If you're into the whole social media thing, follow us on Twitter (@mplsbff) and on Facebook to stay up-to-date with the weekend's news. We'll be announcing some ticket giveaways there later today! Questions?

Picnic Pre-Ride is on! Join btbenmccoy and AdamTurman on a quick cruise starting at the north end of Lake Calhoun, across from the Calhoun Beach Club, approximately here. 10am Meetup, 10:30 departure. No services except water, so be ready to ride. Rough route is north through Theo Wirth Park, over to the river and back down south to Minnehaha Park via the River Road. Subject to change, of course! Ending at the picnic.

Can I buy tickets tonight in person at the MIA for shows on Friday and Saturday? Trying to save those dollars by not having to pay an online service charge.
