I figured I might as well post my stable. It deserves to be seen. Should come a little at a time as I get pictures.  First, my freshly acquired Raleigh Superbe. All original parts, and I'll make some changes for comfort, but this is how it came. Reynolds 531SL tubing, chromed with a gold lacquer in a style called cromovelato. The gold is flaking and there are no decals, but I'll leave it alone until I can find someone who knows the art to relacquer it. 61cm seat tube, 57cm top tube, so I have a more upright position, especially when I shorten the stem. Early Suntour Superbe components with the Superbe Tech rear derailleur. Superbe seatpost, headset and stem as well. Mavic MA40 tubular rims. Rear tire has a slow leak so I need a source for vintage tires. The front wheel shown has a Dura-ace hub, but I have the original wheel coming. Soon to come, my 73 Paramount.

At last, here's the Paramount.  Here's the link to more pictures. 1973, Nervex lugs, fully Campy. It may have been repainted professionally as I haven't seen this color on any and there are no decals or headbadge. The Brooks was beautiful before I sweated on it without proofhide, now it's cracking a bit. The brake hoods are EAI replacements and are horrible. I still need to glue the tubulars and restore the toe straps, but it's more wall art than a rider for me.

I have to throw up some teasers of my most recent project.    It's a British racer style bike from the late '50s. Mix of British and French parts on an NYC-built frame. The paint is rough so I'm looking into a pro repaint and it needs new rims. The rear hub is unique but I'll have to get a picture another day.

is it a factory paint job on it right now or has someone attacked it with house paint and a foam brush?
There is lots of class with a well worn paint job. Battle scars and all that.

I wouldn't call it 'factory' as it's a handbuilt frame, but the paint is original. I've decided against a repaint since a proper restoration would probably be in the $700 range with the lug lining and getting the transfers (at least according to Cycle Art). Rust has removed the paint around the bottom bracket and fork ends so I'll clean it up as best I can and clearcoat the problem areas for now.

just thinking about possible builds for a frame like that makes me happy...
cottered 50.4 bcd cranks, 'jockey' style f.d.'s, 4 speed freewheels... Or just bronze cast 50's campy.
