I am sure there is a similar thread somewhere but I couldn't find it.
I ran a lot of errands today and had to interact with a lot of people and I was sweaty and gross pretty much from the get go. I usually bring a clean shirt, deodorant, and a towel if I am going to school or what ever but I was not at any one place for a long time.
Is there something like a bicycling jersey but for under the clothes? I want to be able to dress normal but cotton just doesn't breathe good enough. Or even bicycling jersey like clothing that is not skin tight or looks like a bicycling jersey, I am just sick of getting soaked all the time.
I am open to any suggestions.

Check out the shirts that Freewheel employees are wearing these days- lightweight grey wool, 3 buttons with a collar. If you could get one like those in black or navy (not from Freewheel, but from Icebreaker.com), the sweat stains wouldn't stand out, and you won't smell. Two non-tight models: http://www.icebreaker.com/site/icebreak ... alue=Blackhttp://www.icebreaker.com/site/icebreak ... _polo.htmlThe price seems prohibitive 'til you hear that these last an insanely long time and won't ever stink like poly does after one wear. (just always line dry them) Are you wearing a bag while you ride? Keeping the bag off your body will lessen torso/back sweat stains. Good luck!

Today I didn't wear a bag but I do from time to time, depending on what I'm doing or where/how far I am headed.
Thank you for the tip, I will look into this

one thing I always do when I get to work is sit outside for about 5 minutes. let the body temp come down and the "strong" smell come down a bit.
I carry a handful of handkerchiefs in my bag. when I get to work I run in the bathroom and wet one and wipe my top half. the second one dries me off.

That is not tight? I joke, I joke. I don't feel bad, he'd never make it in Minnesota. I am going to try these on tomorrow, did a little searching on the internet about this company and everyone that has tried one has only good things to say about it.

I've started wearing an under-armor shirt under whatever i'm wearing for the day. It isn't perfect, but it does do wonders in wicking sweat away and allowing you to cool off quickly. The only problem is that it smells miserably after one day of wearing. As a bigger guy, it also helps keep my moving parts in place.

Look at the gaping material at his elbow! I could pick that guy up and put him sideways and he might cover my shoulder width.. Not really but I do have a large chest and until recently, a pot belly but it makes finding shirts that fit me right hard, they are usually tight in the chest/shoulder/arm/back area and then just kind of hang, it sucks. I either have to look like an emo kid wearing a super tight shirt or a homie wearing a shirt that just totally hangs off me. Every once in a while you find a winner and you buy two or three of them in different colors and that is what you wear for the next 6 months. Such is life for me and clothing. So I tried these shirts on and alas they are not the correct fit for me. My manories stick out while the rest hangs loose over the belly, it looks weird and secondly it shows the nips, which I am not a huge fan of either. However, the shirt was super comfortable and I could tell just by wearing it for a few minutes that it would be an excellent shirt if I didn't have such a, pardon the term, retarded body shape. So if you are a normal human being and are looking for a good shirt, those two that Radlerin posted up top would be worth looking into, if it had fit I was totally ready to drop $70 on one. So the search continues...

I grabbed a few Icebreaker polo shirts a couple weeks ago. I'm wearing a Kent Polo today. I've warn it three times since the last wash. I forgot to put on deodorant this morning, and I'm generally pretty sweaty. After riding in and then running some errands at lunch, the shirt is bone dry and I don't smell. Magic! I do wish the fit was a little narrower and longer though. I got a Transit Polo at the same time. Its lighter but the ends of the sleeves are not as finished and the stitching isn't as good. A few people have asked if my shirt is on inside out. fwiw.

Swobo made a nice merino polo that might be a different cut. I don't know if they're available anymore. Maybe try One on One for that though?

Is this what you're talking about, V-Alex? It runs on bonktown fairly often. Not sure it would be what OP's looking for, as I too am cursed with a build that is heftier than the average cyclist, and I've found Swobo runs quite narrow.

It seemed a bit more square/tapered than the Icebreaker ones.

Maybe it's cut a bit heftier, no way to tell without putting it on. I want to say Bonktown sells it for ~$30, so at that price it'd be worth a shot.
I have two jerseys and a merino wool t-shirt by Swobo, and they are all really slim fitting.
