Free beer two weekends in a row? You can't get that where it's warm.

just saw the FB post. Just so I'm not ignorant, why is this listed as a fundraiser for bike polo but it says a portion of all proceeds go to Jaime at Sunrise?

POLO FUNDRAISER FEB25 FLIER by ebbmart, on Flickr

Hey suspeckted - thanks for asking. Basically, I think polo has kinda' a bad rap around town, and we are trying to change that. If i may be so bold as to speak for the polo club #so correct me if I am wrong# We are not jocks, assholes, or elitists. We are concerned and aware citizens that believe in bike community, and want to foster it. We also hope to get more players and visitors with honey #community building, donations, better public relations#, than with vinegar #perception that we are selfish, destructive, violent, drunk#. So far, as a club, we have donated time to bikes for kids, have had polo clinics for people that are interested, but a little intimidated; and we plan to do more for the community as we get more organized, and can build some capitol. We have a non-profit #thanks to Landon Baumas hard work#, and I think we should earn that title.

What about Sunrise? Jamie has helped me, and others out on numerous occasions with little bits and pieces, or whole badass wheel sets, crank sets and frames. He has always been extremely reasonable to me price-wise, has taken an intrest in my polo shenanigans and bikes, and has a stockpile of parts that can allow someone to get a dedicated polo bike for as little as $100. He has also invited the community into his space with things like Greaserag - promoting the community of cycle riders of all shapes, sizes, genders, identities, etc.

Basically, Sunrise needs to stay open. Jamie has been there for people, and it is our turn to be there for him. This is what we can do at the moment, so please join us, throw in a little extra for Jamie, and get to know this little pocket of weirdos who play the game of polo!

thanks, ebbmart

not the kind of rap I was talking about, but now you are saying that advertising a fun event that encompases "music/event", "racing" and "fun"... and BEER... can only be posted in one place? you show me that thread, and Ill delete the rest.
