Well, speculation and wild dreaming won't cost a thing. I don't expect a Vikings Stadium in Arden Hills. As I've read it, Ramsey County has requested money to clean up the site. I've driven past the cite. There is some terrain and trees there.

Supposing the Vikings don't develop that sight and Ramsey County finds a way to clean it up and decides to leave it parkland, who would be in charge of that? Because some mountain bike trails in Arden Hills would be close to my house and I am in favor of that.

This is beyond speculation, isn't it? Have the folks at MORC thought about this?

I do believe there is some type of Federal funding available for this. There are however stipulations (of course) that go along with it.

I'm angered in all directions of Stadium discussions, so Ill leave myself out of it.

As always I say if you want it then get involved in it. Currently there are a number of MORC projects going on and new people are needed regularly to be the next people to carry the torches and let those that have been advocating and building trails get the breaks they deserve.

"The county has an agreement with the General Services Administration - the real estate division of the federal government - to acquire the 430-acre property, which tested munitions in World War II. Funding the acquisition and cleanup, however, is largely contingent on receiving state support for a new Vikings stadium or another use.

I live right across 35 from it. I bike and walk the Rice Creek trail daily. There is a bit of off road trails back in there but nothing to holla about. A while back one of the Arden Hills city councilmen told me that if the stadium would be built there would be even more trails, not sure how true that actually was but he said it would expand all the way over to Lexington.

I constantly ride back in there and imagine what could be. A couple huge hills that are there would be great for skiing. Cross country skiing, mountain bike paths, walking paths, it would be choice.
