bc3 wrote: So glad this thread stayed on topic. The thread was summed up with the statement that "everyone can be an ass regardless of what they are riding on or in." And the solution was "don't be a douche." Once we had that covered, we somehow got to werewolves on bikes and sharks with lazer beams. Sharks with Hitler's brain even. How can that thread drift be a bad thing?!?!?!?! Plus, I actually rode 30 miles, slowly, on the trail, on a SATURDAY, without getting killed by the OP's "time-trialists" or even seeing any rude behavior. My faith in fellow man has been restored. My hair seems to be thicker and more luxurious. My wife says I am "bigger" (that may be swelling from the new saddle, but I'll take it). Cats and dogs are living together in harmony, and I'm pretty sure all I need is one more Yoga class to achieve "enlightenment." Good day to you!!!!

All my issues lately have been within a block or two of my house. I love it when I can get on the Greenway and relax a bit.

i think roadie group rides are the worst. they looooovee meeting/riding right after work. about 5-7ish. which happens to be when everyone is also commuting. and on nice days, tons of families, pets, rollerbladers, etc.
if i were to vote on my least favorite group rides, the Erik's groups (black/grey/white jerseys) would be head and shoulders above the rest. and the rest stink too.

That is a bummer to hear. Sometimes, one my way home, I'll stop at Pizza Luce and those guys have been in there a few times. Eric actually bought me a beer once when I rolled up and asked a few questions about the group on the patio. They all seemed like decent guys/gals at the bar.

Besides not running over kids and puppies, the time trialists might try not to yell at people who are cleaning up glass on the greenway:
"Give me room!" "Get the fuck off of the pavement!" (reply: "We're just cleaning up glass") "Well get the fuck out of the lane!" (reply -- from glass cleaner who actually HAD gotten off to the side BEFORE the Lycranaut arrived -- "The lane is where the glass is")
I wasn't there for this particular exchange, but it's a familiar one. Just how do these guys think the Greenway stays rideable?
