but, but, what about our 1973 ride??

Nice bike, bro. I gotta check it out in person.

Wall Art is great - have lots. As you get beyond the early riding it all phase, you will discover that bikes can be art and some need to stay that way. Hang it in your stairwell and use it properly.

Here's the bike I'm making into my summer 2012 ride. It's taken me a year to get it to this state which is still a ways from completion but rideable.

Holdworth Mistral from the late '70s. Campy Super Record derailleurs with a Gipiemme crankset. Mismatched Campy wheels, Mafac Racer brakes. Minnehaha seatbag with a nifty support. The bars will be changed to something more upright, which is why only one brake is cabled right now. The frame is designed for 27" wheels so it rides very stable with the 700s I have on, but eventually I'll build some 27s for it. Working on getting parts for the rear fender and a Brooks. The chrome on the frame is kind of pitted and I had Alex of A-Train Cycles braze on some seatpost clamp ears as they were crushed, hence the lack of paint in that area. It looks good from a distance, but kind of pieced together if you take a closer look.
