I have done a few trips from uptown to bryant lake (EP) for disc golf, but where else can one go besides for food?
What else is there to see/do within the cities that you can bike to? Been to the minnehaha falls, Minneapolis sculpture garden, etc.

I like biking to work. More helpfully, when they're happening, movies and music in the parks are a cool destination. Right now its an annoying flash page with no actual information, but here's where the park board posts the summers' events: http://www.mplsmusicandmovies.com/

Bike to the Walker Art Center on Thursday nights or the first Saturday of the month (tomorrow even!) for free admission.
Bike to the Minneapolis Institute of Art (always free, I think).
have you tried the grease pit?
Bike to Wild Rumpus book store in Linden Hills and meet their animals.
Bike to Nicollet and Boom Islands.
Bike to Riverview Theatre for cheap cheap movies.
Bike to St. Anthony Falls / Stone Arch Bridge / Mill Ruins / Guthrie Theatre.
Bike the Grand Rounds.
Bike to a lake.
Bike to the Humane Society in Golden Valley or St. Paul.
Bike to CC Club and play "What's New Pussycat" on the jukebox 21 times (tell them Bjorn sent ya).

Lots of loop rides. Out to Hopkins and back or out to the end of the Gateway trail and back. The St. Paul Classic route with variations through Mendota or down to the Wakota bridge,(494 Mississippi crossing) Up the Mississippi river trails to the coon rapids dam and back down the other side. Out to Victoria on the north LRT, to Chaska by road then back on the south LRT after riding out on the greenway to Hopkins.

I live in NE so I sometimes do a loop like NE > St. Anthony bike trail > North to 45th to Victory Memorial Pkwy > Theo Wirth > Around Cedar Lake > Greenway > South (42nd Ave) > Minnehaha Ave > U of M > Mpls Diagonal trail back to NE.
I hope that made sense. My brain is resembling scrambled eggs.

For the most part, a bike is just like a car for getting places in the twin cities, and for runs between uptown and many areas, it is quicker, plus you have the freedom to park free and close to whatever venues you choose. I go to the orchestra and out for the evening on bike (there are a lot of bikes at the orchestra this year), do my shopping on bike, go to the opera on bike, go to see other music on a bike etc. Anything you can do with a car you can do on a bike if you think about it (unless you are going out on a dress up type date) - but you can have a couple of cocktails and not worry about it if you choose to as a side benefit.

I second isboogy, since I have renounced my car for about 2 years now, I often forget the more leisurely function of a bike hehe.
My previous bike rounds would be to travel the entire Greenway from Mississippi to Calhoun, loop Calhoun and come back. A popular one is of course the entire loop of the River Roads from Franklin Ave Bridge down to Ford Parkway and back up. My friend really likes going down to the river confluence/Fort Snelling and milling about. There are a few stop points that give you vistas of the river valley below. My "urban excursion" trip is no longer feasible because of LRT construction but it basically took you up to Como and back down to Univ.
Since the Greenway is clogged nowadays, I suggest "new" quiet zones such as Northeast neighborhoods past Broadway and the River-Lake Greenway in Southside. These give you a slice of real old school Minneapolis, untouched by Portlandiaism.
I'm also super excited about PedalMN.com because I don't traverse Greater MN enough.

So maybe the questions is where do you go? Search around where you go, Google maps or cyclopath
The great thing about that is your already headed there so this is just another fun thing.
For your question everywhere

Groceries. Beer. Meeting my wife when she's on a walk with our kids.
Basically I don't bike a lot of places right now since my time is pretty limited between my main job, family and two volunteer positions. I want to start biking to work when I get some better handlebars and seat, since the trip is 14 miles one way.
