it's that time of year again, and the summer classic is comin at ya in August. More racers, more prizes, more mayhem. I will be updating this initial posting rather than make tons of new ones for ease of finding info. I took down the bikejerks website and am in the process of rebuilding it. so sit tight and more details will be announced. I need all of you out there to tell your friends and spread the word. this is going to be one of the premier cycling culture events in the midwest and if you think you're fast you best show up. (if you ain't fast you'll have rediculously huge amounts of fun as well) http://www.bikejerks.com/allcitychampionship.htm
Edited by hereNT because Pickles' link didn't work.

Nice mustache. This was a great race last year, and I've been looking forward to it all summer. Are you going to post the manifest 48 hours prior to the start like you did last year?
edit--for that matter...any deep-v/surly wheelsets like last year too?

I bent my celeste rim when I biffed in my briefs (don't
worry, pickles, it still rides), but I should probably get
that replaced, so... lest I ask my liver and my legs if
they're ready for some pain, see ya'll on the 18th!!

i'll make the bar stops known before hand. but there will be some surprises. it is goiing to be a very tough race. also i will have at least one wheelset. and am hoping to have a second one. the prizes are definitely up from last year.
also
Friday the 17th pre reg, match sprints, trackstand, skid comp.
sat. race
sunday brunch.
in an attempt to lure more out of towners there will be stuff going on all weekend.
tell your friends.

for the record, i did not post the manifest last year 48 hours ahead of time. i posted the bar stops. the "race stops" were not known and shant be this year. I may post the bar stops early again to give the purely drinking crowd the opportunity to plan their drunken-ness. but i'm leaning toward not posting anything early. I only make this clarification, because i don't want anyone thinking they can go to bike love or bikejerks a few days before the race and formulate and practice their route. you'll likely get a halfhour before the race.
Also if you're active on boards around the country, please post and let them know what's going on. Call your friends and get their asses here, last year we derbyed around some goth chicks spinning fire. It's gonna be an experience and a motherfucker of a race, the course I'm planning is going to be ruthless. also the prizes are going to be sick and i've got a very good one for first out of town.
the prize categories are going to be:
first skid comp
first trackstand
first matchsprints
first, second, third overall alleycat
first female (i'm hoping to do 1,2,3, female, but i don't know if i'll have enough prizes)
first out of town
first overall masters division 36 plus
there won't be any drunk race. going out and going to six bars and downing a drink, doesn't impress me (well it kind of does but i don't believe in insitutionalizing drinking, it's a gentleman's pursuit not a competition).
Also if you're running the speedrace you don't have to drink at any stops to get a stamp. this is for the straight edge kids and because of my previously stated convictions.
the first run of flyers are out, please spread the word. over the past year the urban bike scene in Minneapolis has exploded and this is a chance for everyone to get together.
out,
pickles

For the record, I only took drunk/speed race last year 'cause five of the six drinking stops were the last five of the eighteen stops overall. Meaning, I was sober until hitting Acadia Cafe, then I drunk my ass to Geneo's. And who hasn't done Hennepin a million times? Drunk?
Anyway... phew? Or, you puss?
I was kind of looking forward to a drinking race... Pete and Tim got me scared, and so does Randy.
Shit, this year's gonna be tough...
